Your Role
Make an impact by shaping the future of technology at IAG. As Manager, Platform Services, you will lead the decommissioning of legacy platforms and build sustainable, scalable assets to simplify our technology landscape. You’ll transition heritage systems to strategic SaaS applications, ensuring smooth operations for our critical JAC, PEGA, and Genetica platforms. This role combines operational excellence, strategic leadership, and technology transformation to deliver exceptional business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the blueprint for transitioning heritage on-premise platforms to strategic SaaS applications, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of decommissioning activities across the Insurance ecosystem, including project and program management, customer migration, and functionality decisions.
- Build and evolve decommissioning assets, driving automation, efficiency, and self-service capabilities across IAG.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of Java applications, PEGA, and Genetica platforms in alignment with strategic roadmaps.
- Own the commercial model for platform transitioning, including forecasting costs, investments, and benefits
- Collaborate with trading divisions, engineering managers, and other key stakeholders to ensure workforce planning and alignment to decommissioning timelines.
This is a permanent role open to candidates based in Gadigal Country (Sydney).
About You
We are looking for leaders who bring innovation, collaboration, and results. To excel in this role, you’ll have:
- Proven experience in people management, talent development, and leadership in application development and operations.
- Expertise in technology strategy execution, workforce planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong capabilities in building strategic partnerships, problem-solving, and driving operational excellence.
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related field, complemented by industry certifications such as ITIL, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma
- A mindset for nimble learning, customer focus, and cultivating innovation within teams and partners.
