"Connection, Learning, Opportunity."

"I went to the University of Georgia in the United States and studied Management Information Systems, which was all about enterprise scale technology. I think that really prepped me for the Technology & Operations stream at IAG. I chose IAG for its strong reputation and culture, and because I wanted to contribute to a large organisation that values innovation and people. The opportunities I have had to connect with and learn from senior leaders is pretty phenomenal and not something I would expect from an organisation of this size."

My tip before applying to IAG:
"Be yourself, the grad cohorts are always so diverse so don’t feel like you must pigeonhole yourself into being an 'optimal candidate'. Authenticity will always shine through."
Tyson (Technology & Operations)
University of Georgia (U.S.) Graduate
BBA in Management Information Systems

"Dynamic, Inclusive, Challenging."

"IAG has a strong reputation within the general insurance industry, and being an actuarial graduate, I was keen to see exposure to core actuarial work like pricing and reserving. IAG also has a very supportive culture and provides great opportunities for actuarial students to pursue further study!"

My tip before applying to IAG:
"Ask yourself: if you were hiring a graduate with little to no industry experience, what would make you choose them? It’s not just about your hard-skills – think about what else would make a company want to invest in you, and show that in your application. And remember that how you approach a problem is just as valuable as the final answer."

Amee (Actuarial & Pricing)
University of New South Wales Graduate
Bachelor of Actuarial Studies and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)

"An incredible opportunity."

"I chose IAG because I had some friends working at the company who spoke really highly of the supportive and inclusive culture. The ROLLiN’ stream in particular stood out to me as it provided experience in an end-to-end business. I currently work in a data and analytics role that leverages my actuarial and commerce background from university."

My tip before applying to IAG:
"Be yourself in all your applications – your resume, video interviews and assessment centre. Your unique interests, skills and experiences is what will help you to stand out. Also, keep in mind that that this process is just as much to work out if IAG is a good fit for you!"
Reaz (ROLLiN')
University of New South Wales Graduate
Bachelor of Actuarial Studies and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)

"Adaptable, Engaging, Purposeful."

"IAG has taught me adaptability and confidence. I’ve learned to pivot quickly when priorities change and communicate effectively with different stakeholders. Personally, I’ve become more comfortable in stepping out and more inclusive to embracing challenges."

My tip before applying to IAG:
"Be curious and proactive. Show genuine interest in learning and building relationships. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or share ideas. The program is all about learning and professional growth, and people at IAG really value enthusiasm and initiative."
Nelson (Finance)
University of New South Wales Graduate
Bachelor of Commerce (Finance)

"Growth, Connection, Opportunity."

"The most impactful project I worked on was launching an Engineering Mentoring program during my first rotation. Organising it was a whirlwind, but seeing it come to life and watching engineers connect, learn, and grow together was incredibly rewarding. It’s amazing to be part of something that helps others develop and succeed!"

My tip before applying to IAG:
"Go for it and be yourself! The Grad Program is all about learning, growing, and connecting with amazing people. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, get involved, and embrace every opportunity."
Ruchitha (New Zealand Division - Technology & Operations)
University of Auckland Graduate
Bachelor of Science (IT Management) and Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing)

"Growth, Challenging, Fun."

"Every single one of my leaders and teams have been positive, encouraging, inspiring and understanding. They have made my experience as a grad feel meaningful and have really done everything in their power to showcase my work and value. I couldn't have asked for better leaders!"

My tip before applying to IAG:
"Don't be afraid to show the human. Sometimes applying for graduate programs can seem impersonal, there are hundreds of other applicants. I think it’s important to be authentically you and showcase that through your responses and interviews. At the end of the day, your superpower is your fresh and unique perspective!"
Kristiane (Human Resouces)
University of Technology Sydney Graduate
Bachelor of Business (Human Resources, Marketing)

"Learning, Growth, Connections."

"The Grad Program has boosted my technical skills through real projects like automation and AI initiatives, while improving communication and adaptability through stakeholder meetings and team collaborations. It’s grown my confidence and network. My leader provided guidance and trust, giving me ownership of impactful projects. My team supported learning and collaboration, while peers made the journey fun with shared experiences and encouragement."

My tip before applying to IAG:
"Focus on growth mindset. Show how you embrace challenges and adapt quickly, those traits make a big difference in the grad journey."
Yeshlin (Technology & Operations)
University of Auckland Graduate
Postgraduate Certificate in Information Technology

"Supportive, Diverse, Rewarding."

"Both teams I’ve rotated through so far have created an environment where work is enjoyable and interesting. I’ve been encouraged to ask questions and had a say in the projects I work on. For studying actuaries, managers are super supportive of study leave, and having peers doing the same exams makes a big difference  we’re in it together!"

My tip before applying to IAG:
"Keep an open mind! Actuarial work at IAG goes beyond pricing and reserving  we work with finance, data, and more. Think about how your uni skills can solve a variety of business problems and show your flexibility to learn across different functions."
Kenneth (Actuarial & Pricing)
Bond University Graduate
Bachelor of Actuarial Science

"Diverse growth opportunities."

"IAG has opened my eyes to the diverse career paths available in HR. I learnt about HR specialisations I had never heard of before - a major benefit of working for a large organisation. My most impactful project involved using workforce analytics and aligning with strategic goals to design a leadership development initiative to boost capability and engagement, which was  endorsed by senior leadership."

My tip before applying to IAG:
"IAG is a very culture-driven organisation, so do your research on our culture, values, and behaviours. Think about how you connect to The IAG Way."
Hannah (Human Resources)
University of New South Wales Graduate
Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resource Management, Marketing) and Bachelor of Science (Psychology)
