I have always had a passion for working with mob, which led me to a 12-year career in Community Services with the Australian Red Cross. After being introduced to IAG through our partnerships, I knew it was the right place for me. Working here has given me the flexibility to care for my family and the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives. The people I meet have become lifelong friends, making my experience at IAG truly rewarding.

My family is from the Torres Strait Islands, but I was born and raised in Boorloo (Perth), WA. IAG is so big with so much opportunity available, and having conversations with different department leads, project managers, and area managers really helped me explore and see what was out there. The longer I’ve been with the company, the more stories I come across where people have been actively developed and supported in their pursuit of building a career here.

Connections: People, Land and Sea

In 2022 we worked with the IAG Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Employee Network Group and digital artist Marcus Lee, a descendant of the Karajarri Peoples to create a bespoke design that represented not just IAG's RAP commitment, but also the peoples of IAG, launching it in 2023.

The stylised purple shapes represent Australia and Torres Strait Islands. Three circular meeting places with dotted rings symbolise the three pillars from the IAG Indigenous Engagement Strategy: People, Business and Community. Graphic lines radiating outward from the meeting places refer to IAG’s focus in growing resilience, building cultural connection and addressing systemic inequalities. The aim of the design is to help our Indigenous peoples to feel connected, feel recognised and help enable all our employees to stand together to embrace reconciliation.
