Create impact as a Consumer Pricing Specialist.

NRMA Insurance has been helping Australians with their general insurance and actively supporting communities for 100 years. Part of Insurance Australia Group (known as IAG), we’re proud to be one of Australia’s most iconic brands.

Your Role

Joining NRMA Insurance’s Motor Pricing team, you’ll develop and implement pricing strategies for the portfolio, using a combination of technical model outputs, market insights, monitoring, and portfolio inputs. You’ll deliver best-in-class pricing outcomes by balancing strategic and commercial considerations. You’ll work in close collaboration with various stakeholders to align business needs and manage risks associated with pricing design and execution.

Day to day you’ll advise on go-to-market pricing strategies in partnership with the technical pricing team and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment with broader commercial objectives. You’ll also contribute to the development of pricing capabilities and techniques, embedding best practices across the pricing function, and ensuring strong governance and adherence to pricing principles and customer commitments.

In addition to strategic responsibilities, you’ll also play a key leadership role within the team, mentoring colleagues and supporting a high-performance culture. This includes guiding Analysts and Senior Analysts, especially when adopting new methods, leading educational sessions, and assisting team members preparing for exams and professional qualifications.

This is a permanent role, and we welcome applicants from all major cities in Australia.

About You

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage pricing models (e.g. GLM, GBM) and tools such as R or Python to develop data-driven pricing strategies. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other applications are essential.

  • 5+ years in general insurance pricing, with a deep understanding of pricing methodologies, market dynamics, and risk-adjusted decision-making in a commercial context.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and produce high-quality documentation.

  • Ability to work independently and build strong working relationships across the organisation, contributing to a high-performance culture and mentoring junior team members.

  • Proven ability to apply robust risk management practices and governance frameworks, ensuring pricing recommendations adhere to established principles and customer commitments.

  • Tertiary qualification in a numerical or analytical discipline (e.g. Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or Actuarial Science), or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.

Applications close Sunday 4 May, 23:59pm AEST.
