Specialist, Pricing Integrity

The Role

As our Pricing Specialist you will assist the Manager Pricing Integrity in the analysis of various pricing matters.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with the Product & Pricing Managers to ensure understanding of data, pricing models and rating engines
  • Analyse current and historic pricing models to understand technical price, optimisation, book price, elasticity, base rates, achieved price, pooling and cross subsidisation
  • Perform analysis to ascertain the Pricing Integrity of current and historic pricing processes
  • Model scenarios to assess the impact of different model factors and pricing approaches
  • Assist in the build of data requirements, data analysis and analysis outputs
  • Investigate processes to ensure pricing practices are compliant with IAG Pricing Principles and highlight any areas of non-compliance
  • For matters where remediation is deemed necessary, assist in the determination of affected parties and remediation payable
  • Support any necessary remediation activities through data analysis and profiling
  • Understand the importance of collaboration in breaking down silos and achieving business results and the ability to lead employees from various functions to communicate, coordinate work across divisions, and collaborate in solving problems as one team
  • Oversee prioritisation of tasks within the team, resourcing assignment and ensuring deadlines are met.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Fellow/Member of the Actuaries Institute or similar
  • 5+ years of general insurance experience
  • Ideally pricing or underwriting experience
  • Understanding of the price calculation process and variables, ie technical price, book price, optimisation, elasticity, base rates, achieved price, pooling and cross subsidisation
  • Expert problem solver
  • Ability to manage complexity
  • Quality focused
  • Ability to develop, foster and leverage key relationships
