The Role 
You are part of a technology products and services division, that creates market differentiation through deployment of resilient, innovative technology and contemporary methods, at scale. 


You will deliver value to stakeholders and be responsible for fostering the agile processes within the team. The role collaborates with key stakeholders to deliver exceptional business outcomes through technology delivered change.


The focus of this role will be:

  •     Managing the agile delivery capability for scope of work within the End User Computing and Virtualisation teams
  •     Identifying and triaging feature updates and/or new features from Microsoft, Citrix and related third parties (with the relevant Product Owners) and feeding them to the teams’ backlogs.
  •     Uplifting the agile delivery capability for the two teams

Key Responsibilities
Technology, risk and financial accountabilities

  •     Enable teams to activate end to end digital experiences for customers, colleagues and partners, that are more secure, robust and scalable than ever before, and deliver them with lightning speed
  •     Bring thought leadership in your field of expertise to support the planning and execution of Technology’s strategic priorities, contemporary operating model and business plan 
  •     Contribute to both Technology and IAG performance with insights, collaborative input and expertise that promotes value creation, innovation, managed risk, and improved performance 
  •     Continue to develop and plan for future growth, enabling enterprise programs and managing products and services across the entire IAG estate.
  •     Demonstrate the IAG purpose and provide leadership to staff and partners that enables, promotes and demands IAG behaviours at all times 
  •     Ensure a workplace of safety and wellbeing for our people
  •     Contribute to your team’s performance by taking on broader accountabilities that reflect your capabilities, skills and development goals to contribute to your squad’s success


Your current accountabilities will also require you to:
Team Engagement 

  •     Lead activities within the team to achieve continuous, quality delivery, maintaining a focus on customer value, outcomes that maximise flow 
  •     Coach a team on agile ways of working, fostering continuous improvement to grow agile maturity, resilience and high performance
  •     Be responsible for working closely with the team to ensure process applied is consistent
  •     Contribute and Drive the teams performance in this area by eliminating waste & fostering an environment of continuous improvement, including facilitating decision making & protecting team from outside forces & distractions

Business & Stakeholder Engagement

  •     Liaise with business and technology stakeholders to create JIRA backlog tasks and perform backlog grooming in line with the stakeholder’s prioritisation. 
  •     Organise regular meetings with them to provide the current sprint deliverables, release cycle, status updates, timelines, etc 
  •     Facilitation of assessment (risk, benefit etc.. ) for decision (block, deploy, promote etc.) across engineering, architecture, change and comms etc.
  •     Work with release management or project team to coordinate deployment into higher environments for testing, training and into Production 
  •     As part of delivery & release management, coordinate pilot user groups 
  •     Work with Performance Testing to ensure execution of performance tests (where applicable)
  •     Manage technical and business go-live activities
  •     End-to-end triage and issues management (including engaging partners, vendors and 3rd party suppliers)
  •     Contribute to decision-making and negotiation with impacted parties in any areas of conflict – e.g.. resources, timelines, dependencies
  •     Contribute to capacity & demand management, cross-projects prioritisation, sequencing, capacity conflicts 
  •     Communicate and collaborate transparently with dependent projects as to standing teams’ activities & progress, supporting program/project risk mitigation, issue escalation & status reporting 
  •     Status reporting for relevant stakeholders, or parent programs 
  •     Facilitate the identification and management of interdependencies across teams within a project and across different projects. 
  •     Work with project &/or program management to facilitate & provide estimates and resource requirements to aid forward planning

Process Governance

  •     Perform agile ceremonies like Iteration planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, retrospectives, showcases, technical playbacks
  •     Effort estimates with team to support release, iteration and project forecasting/ funding processes
  •     Continuously monitor the team throughout the sprints to confirm that the team is on target to complete the planned tasks 
  •     Use technical as well as functional knowledge to remove roadblocks within the standing team as well as identifying technical risks (e.g., risks with architecture, design, patterns, performance, etc.) and communicate obstacles requiring outside resolution
  •     Represent the platform for all pre- planning / inception activities related to the project / initiative
  •     Resolution of issues and documentation of stories in Jira and Confluence
  •     Impact assessment, effort estimates, sequencing, and governance, tracking change requests and traceability of requirements to deliverables
  •     Continuously improve iteration management capabilities by identifying best practices, adopting consistent, standard work & coaching/pairing across teams 
  •     Work closely with the Product Owner(s), business and technology stakeholders during sprints including discussions around the understanding of designs, backlog and product demonstrations (as required) 
  •     Ensure transparency and visibility of progress throughout the sprint.
  •     Identify technical and delivery risks (e.g. risks with architecture, design, patterns, performance, etc)
  •     Proactively manage demand and capacity with key Product Owners and key stakeholders to deliver on prioritised and approved demand, whilst reducing key person dependencies

Evergreen Lifecycle Management 

  •     With the evergreen nature of our services, it is important for this role to stay abreast of the latest industry trends and developments and identify new features or feature updates by: - Scraping vendor portals, blogs, social media accounts for feature updates - Admin portal notifications - Looking at the vendor service strategy and roadmap for the relevant services. - Attending vendor conferences, webinars, launch events 
  •     Work closely with Product Owners and Product Managers to identify and triage these evergreen updates and feed them into the relevant teams’ JIRA backlogs. 
  •     Work closely with the Product Owner(s) and/or Project managers during sprints including discussions around the understanding of designs, backlog and product demonstrations (as required)
  •     Ensure that delivery of these evergreen backlog tasks is in alignment to the Enterprise Technology strategy and roadmaps


Skills & Experience

  •     Essential: Minimum 5 years practical hands on experience as Iteration Manager (or Scrum Master) 
  •     Desirable: 3-5 years technical experience in Technical area (IE some SME or be able to relate to the SME in the respective teams 
  •     Proven experience with Windows 10 and Citrix technologies in a large, diverse and distributed environments 
  •     Excellent working knowledge and understanding of multi-platform environment 
  •     Ability to work under tight deadlines while coordinating with several teams at a time and responding to changing business and technical conditions 
  •     Excellent communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills
  •     Continuous improvement mindset
  •     Leadership and negotiation skills 
  •     Able to coach / mentor agile team members
  •     Proven delivery track record 
  •     Experience leading geographically distributed teams 
  •     Task board management skills with tools like JIRA/Confluence, Planner, Trello



  •     Relevant tertiary qualification is preferred 
  •     Certified Scrum Master/Iteration Manager and have solid experience in how to apply it (desirable)
