Senior Analyst Programmer

The Role 
We are looking for a Senior Analyst Developer to deliver innovative solutions for IAG by contributing thought-leadership analysis, design, development, and support of the Customer & Location Services team using agile methods and processes. To influence/ introduce/refine processes and practices with the view to deliver rapid yet reliable solutions, embracing DevOps ways of working. 


Key Responsibilities: 

Technical Design & Development- 70%: 

  • Design, coding & support for kay IAG applications
  • Provisional of elegant design solutions that satisfy functional, performance and quality requirements. 
  • Design solutions that adhere to IAG standards. 
  • Uses technical knowledge to remove roadblocks within the standing teams, as well as identifying technical risks (e.g. risks with architecture, design, patterns, performance, etc)


Agile Facilitation & Elaboration – 30%: 

  • Facilitation of iteration planning, backlog, grooming, stand-ups, retrospective, showcases
  • Work closely with the Product Owners during sprints including discussions around the understanding of designs, backlog and product demonstrations as required
  • Story elaboration/walkthroughs facilitation of agile rituals and workshops. Stakeholder management and prioritisation of deliverables. 


Skills & Experience

Technical Skills required:

  • Java/Spring
  • Database – Oracle, DB2, Postgres or similar 
  • Testing frameworks – Junit, JMeter, Mockito
  • GIT (feature branches & pull requests), JIRA, Confluence
  • RESTful web services using JSON
  • CI/CD experience, Bamboo


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated Development Industry Experience
  • Experience in helping build team capability, establishing and influencing processes/ practices 
  • Exposure to agile practices including lean design & development techniques
  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or related IT discipline.
