Manager, Pricing Integrity

The Role

In your role as Pricing Manager you will form part our Pricing Integrity team who are responsible for ensuring best practice is maintained across all pricing functions.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • You will manage investigations into aspects of current and historic pricing matters.
  • You will provide oversights of the analysis of current and historic pricing algorithms to ensure they adhere to IAG pricing principles.
  • You will manage a project team to ensure they have the skill, cohesion and engagement to effectively deliver to the project objectives.
  • You will provide oversight of the build of data, data analysis and outputs.
  • You will ensure data governance requirements are met and that data is signed off by relevant stakeholders.
  • You will ensure stakeholders in the business are consulted in the design, decision and implementation process, including Pricing teams, Portfolio Teams, Product teams and Compliance teams.
  • You will understand the importance of inter-team collaboration in breaking down silos and achieving business results and the ability to lead employees from various functions to communicate, coordinate work across divisions, and collaborate in solving problems as a team.
  • You will ensure successful delivery against project timelines and manage interdependencies with adjacent programmes.
  • You will advise and where required assist with similar analysis and investigations for NZ brands.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Actuarial or similar background with 5+ years post qualification experience in general insurance.
  • Ideally pricing or underwriting experience.
  • Understanding of the price calculation process and variables, ie technical price, book price, optimization, elasticity, base rates, achieved price, pooling and cross subsidization.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements and insurance industry knowledge with regards to the insurance contracts Act, ICA Code of Conduct, etc.
  • Leadership and management demonstrated through well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build effective professional relationships and maintain contracts with internal and external stakeholders through influence and a high level of credibility.
  • High attention to details with experience in project management
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Adherence to compliance obligations
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, risk or related fields.
  • Fellow of the Actuaries Institute or equivalent.
