The Capital and Profit Advisory team delivers insights around economic capital and profit targets to key stakeholders across the Group including the Board and Business Divisions. The team aims to develop our understanding of potential economic capital-related impacts from changes in our business and in the event of possible future scenarios. 
As part of maintaining best practice Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), the team provides advice on the solvency and profitability implications of investment, reinsurance underwriting, pricing and capital decisions. This advice is used to support strategic decision-making across the business on matters involving economic capital, risk and uncertainty.  
The role brings the opportunity to work with senior leaders in developing the company’s evolving capital platform and new ways of analysing profit targets. A track record of independent thinking will be critical as well as the ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical audiences and an enthusiasm for building internal relationships. 

Skills and Experience
•    Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate Technical discipline eg Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Actuarial, Finance & Engineering
•    Prior practical experience (minimum 1-2 years Analyst, 3-5 years for Senior Analyst) in the analysis of complex data, with a preference to experience in General Insurance roles
•    A good communicator and team player
•    Prior experience working with issues of economic capital is desired.

The Capital and Profit Advisory team is part of the broader IAG Group Actuarial team. IAG’s Group Actuarial aims to influence better strategic decisions through analysis of experience and trends to create insights into the future. Our team, led by the Chief Actuary, advises Board, Executive and Senior Business Leaders across Australia and New Zealand in understanding the uncertainty associated with the Group’s material risks and provides pragmatic advice on optimising its enterprise value.
