Analyst, Pricing Engine



The Role

The purpose of this role is to delivery best in class pricing capability for the Australia Division. The role will involve building the end to end pricing process within the Earnix rating engine including algorithms, monitoring and feedback loops. This role is permanent and based in Sydney.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • You will build an end to end pricing process in Earnix that is best in class for all products across IAG.
  • You will integrate actuarial pricing models (risk cost models and demand models) into the pricing process.
  • You will design pricing algorithms in accordance with out Pricing principles, feeding directly from actuarial pricing models.
  • You will implement algorithm simplification and improvements across IAG within Earnix and design and build monitoring reports with Earnix.
  • You will design pricing governance processes, including around price changes and work collaboratively with our stakeholders, including Customer Labs, Product, Portfolio teams, to capture business requirements and communicate results.


Skills & Experience

  • 2-5 years of general insurance pricing experience
  • Strong technical/analytical skills with experience in SAS, SQL, Python or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel
  • Tertiary qualifications in a numerical or analytical discipline i.e Mathematics, Statistics or Actuarial related field with demonstrated equivalent experience.
