Technology Strategy Specialist

The Role


We are inviting highly experienced & collaborative Technology Strategy Consultants to evolve our Technology Strategy in alignment to the Business Strategy and support development of product / domain strategies that underpin it. You'll join a collaborative team of specialists across Australia & NZ. More specifically, you'll sit within our Technology Strategy Delivery team where you'll shape the future of work for our IT people, through state-of-the art technology, global thought leadership and modern delivery practices.


The role will support strategic alignment of the Technology Strategy and technology driven initiatives across IAG’s broader enterprise portfolio through portfolio insights and technology & architecture governance. In addition, you will provide Technology Advisory services to the broader Technology Leadership Team.


You will be a key contributor to the shaping of a Customer Journey-led, Product and Architecture capability within a broader Strategy & Architecture function. You will take a customer-led approach to supporting the alignment of Product and Architecture roadmaps to the Technology Strategy and establishing the systems of work to sustainably achieve this. You will also provide guidance and coaching to a team of Technology Strategy & Portfolio alignment specialist. 


You will enable teams to activate end to end digital experiences for customers, colleagues and partners, that are more secure, robust and scalable than ever before, and deliver them with lightning speed

Successful candidates for these roles will come from digital and technology strategy background with knowledge in product management.

What you'll ideally have


  • 5+ years relevant IT advisory industry experience in developing IT strategies and roadmaps that deliver transformational change
  • 3+ years management / technology consulting experience in a tier 1 or 2 consulting company at Senior Consultant or Manager level
  • Strong knowledge of technology trends across IT and digital and how they can be applied to Insurance companies to address real world problems and opportunities
  • Deep experience with program management and technology delivery
  • Develop relationships with diverse teams and encourage cultural change
  • Ability to communicate corporate strategy to customers and prospects
  • Strong business communication skills (written and verbal), including ability to effectively present issues, ideas, and solutions, in logical and articulate manner
  • Knowledge and experience with Scaled Agile/Lean practices and leading Agile teams
  • Knowledge and experience with Customer Journey-Led strategy and product management concepts
  • Demonstrated experience defining and driving complex organisational change
  • Proven experience in business and IT relationship management; working in/with matrix structures and influencing senior business and technology leaders
