Pricing Specialist

The Role

The purpose of the role and your unique contribution is to assist the Lead and Manager of either the Consumer or Commercial Pricing teams in identifying the underlying risk drivers of performance affecting the current and future profitability of our portfolios and to work closely with the Portfolio Managers to develop the appropriate book price positions across our Commercial and Personal lines products.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • You will provide and manage pricing solutions across our Consumer or Commercial segments.
  • You will work closely with the Portfolio Management Team to design pricing strategies and develop the desirable “go market” price positions.
  • You will utilise the technical pricing models to drive pricing outcomes, overlaying elasticity models and competitor price movements to achieve margin and growth targets.
  • You will be responsible for managing the book pricing for either the Commercial or Consumer portfolios, while responding to market and competitor movements in an agile and responsive manner.
  • You will support Portfolio Management with insights into key segments that are driving material trends in performance and provide recommendations on pricing actions to deliver results against margin and growth targets.
  • You will liaise with Data and Analytics on monitoring and technical pricing needs.
  • You will maintain and update key internal and external pricing data sources to ensure confidence in data integrity across the specific portfolio.

 

Skills & Experience

  • 5 + years’ end to end pricing experience within General Insurance – Required.
  • Relevant undergraduate degree or post-graduate qualification in Actuarial or related field.
  • Ability to manage complexity and expert problem solving and analysis skills.
  • Quality focused
  • Ability to develop, foster and leverage key relationships.
