Document Specification Specialist



The Role

The purpose of this role is to create and delivery insurance regulatory contracts and communications to end customers across all products (commercial & personal) nationally. You will ensure all policy documents sent (digital & post) to our customers meet required regulatory and legal standards. You will also be a key player in regulatory policy communication strategy within Australian Division.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • You will apply pre-approved wording by Product and/ or Pricing Committee product/ regulatory requirements to all customer facing policy documents such as schedules, auto generated letters, email templates etc.
  • You will understand the business need and write technical print specifications/rules that drive the print output.
  • You will provide advice on creation of new codes in the core policy system by thorough understanding of existing fields
  • You will analyse potential impacts to peripheral products and document sets.
  • You will apply technical knowledge and experience to guide and influence stakeholder decision making.
  • Effective and timely delivery of all policy documents and take appropriate actions in case of breach.
  • You will understand the business needs and specifications to create test cases where needed.
  • You will partner with technology and the business to test conditions/content of the schedules and streams (mail-pack matrix).
  • You will perform print proofing of the documents post go-live. Raise defects and ensure right level severity is assigned and monitor until closure.
  • You will establish and maintain strong working relationships with all key internal/external stakeholders, and demonstrate behaviours that enable customer focussed outcomes, effective teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • You will work collaboratively with all vendors (e.g. IVEO, FujiXerox, SEMA, CoTe etc) to deliver required customer policy documentation.


Skills & Experience


  • Mandatory experience in Insurance or Financial Service industries.  Preference to insurance industry
  • Expertise in preparing product and legal or legislative related documents 
  • BA and testing experience high preference
  • Tertiary Qualifications preferred
  • Insurance Qualifications preferred
