About the Role

 

Join us at IAG! In this exciting role, you will play a key part in contributing directly to the effectiveness of the risk management practices within T&O and the achievement of the “Manage our risks” pillar of IAG’s corporate strategy.

You will enable the effective management of risk within the T&O division and contribute to the development of a risk improvement plan for T&O and take personal responsibility for the delivery of initiatives that contribute directly to improved risk management practices, risk maturity targets, and broader risk priorities.

Partnering with aligned business units, acting as a trusted risk advisor, to ensure that they are aware of the requirements and take appropriate steps to implement effective risk management practices. You will oversee dynamic governance of risk activity within aligned business units to maintain risk hygiene, i.e. risk profiling, control management, risk event management, and issue and action management.

This is a permanent role, and we welcome applicants from the East Coast of Australia or any of our major centres in New Zealand.

About You

  • At least 8 years’ experience in operational risk roles, ideally within the financial services industry, including at least 3 years in leadership roles,
  • Deep understanding of relevant technology, data, information security, and operational risk related regulation,
  • Deep understanding of technology, information security and data risk,
  • Strong outcome orientation,
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate with influence and simplify complex topics for an executive audience,
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including executive / Board report writing,
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, e.g., data, technology, commerce, audit, or risk,
  • Industry or specialist technology and/or risk management accreditation, and
  • Understanding of / experience operating within a three lines of defence risk model.
