Your Role 
We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Reserving Actuary to work across our Intermediated Insurance Australia (IIA) Reserving team. This team’s purpose is to support better strategic decisions through technical analysis of past experience and current trends to create insights into the future. 

As a Specialist Reserving Actuary, you’ll drive change by re-defining processes and support IIA in modelling and advising on the valuation of insurance liabilities and risk-based capital. 

This role will focus on Commercial Liability and will require strong communication, including the ability to discuss technical concepts simply and influence key decision makers. 

This is a permanent, fulltime role and can be based anywhere in Australia. Preference would be either Sydney or Melbourne. 
 
About You 

• You will be FIAA qualified 
• Significant experience in the analysis of complex data within the General Insurance market and within Actuarial roles. 
• Practical experience in Reserving, ideally long-tail portfolio’s (preferred)
• Experience using analytical software such as SAS, Excel, R, SQL or Python
• Great communication with experience mentoring and coaching teammates.
