As a Senior Analyst for Storm Risk, Governance & Budgets, you will play a crucial role in providing advisory services for the Storm Model product. You will communicate with stakeholders regarding work slate and model insights, assist with modelling governance controls and standards, and contribute to the operation and innovation of the natural peril budgeting process.
Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the management and advisory of the Storm Model product, which is essential for peril pricing, reinsurance modelling, and major event response.

Work closely with data, statistical modelling, and weather risk teams to enhance the quality and sophistication of the model.

Support the team's governance processes, including modelling standards, model monitoring, and risk controls.

Participate in the natural peril budget and reinsurance allocation process and assist with the innovation and development of future budget allocation processes.
This is a permanent role open to candidates anywhere in Australia.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience in natural perils analysis and modelling, with a strong understanding of integrating such information into business processes and operations.

Proficiency in mathematical and statistical analysis within a finance setting.

Ability to convey complex, quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.

Highly organised with a keen attention to detail.

Experience with statistical software packages and database management tools, including proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, R and SAS.

Experience with geospatial software packages (such as QGIS, ArcGIS, or MapInfo).

Experience in catastrophe modelling (preferred but not a showstopper for the right candidate).

Proven experience in working on cross-functional and team projects.

Actuarial, statistical, quantitative, natural peril science background preferred.
