Your Role

Are you a seasoned Business Continuity Management professional ready to lead and influence at scale? IAG is seeking an experienced Manager, Business Continuity Management to drive our enterprise-wide Business Continuity Management (BCM) function and help protect what matters most — our people, our customers, and our communities.

In this pivotal role, you'll lead an experienced and technical team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where people thrive. Your leadership will ensure the successful delivery of strategic outcomes and continuous improvement of BCM practices across IAG.

You'll be responsible for embedding and continuously improving the Business Continuity Management framework, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations such as CPS230. You’ll oversee the entire BCM lifecycle — from policy development, business continuity plans, testing to training and awareness. You’ll also play a key role in supporting Crisis Management and Critical Incident Response teams.

In addition, you’ll present a group-wide view of business continuity and disruption risks, provide strategic recommendations, and act as a subject matter expert in BCM education, training, and awareness. Representing IAG in external forums, you’ll help shape best practices and stay ahead of emerging risks.

This is a permanent, full-time position open to candidates based in Australia, with a preference for those located in Meanjin (Brisbane), Gadigal Country (Sydney), or Naarm (Melbourne).

About You

We’re looking for an experienced and influential leader in Business Continuity. To succeed in this role, you'll bring a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong people leadership. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Experience: At least 10 years in Business Continuity at a senior level, ideally within Financial Services. Experience leading BCM programs in complex, multi-layered organisations with exposure to IT infrastructure and disaster recovery.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, inspire and develop high-performing teams. You’ll have a track record of coaching technical specialists, building collaborative team cultures, and guiding teams through transformation and delivery of strategic outcomes.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and engage effectively at all levels — from operational teams to executives.

  • Skills: Deep knowledge of the Financial Services regulatory environment, especially CPS230 and CPS232. Hands-on experience with BCM software platforms, crisis management, BCM plan activation, and report preparation for senior stakeholders.

  • Qualifications: Relevant undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications. Project management experience and the ability to support and deliver cross-functional initiatives.

  • Attributes: A proactive mindset, always looking ahead to identify emerging risks and translate external changes into internal improvements. Strong industry networks and a passion for continuous improvement and innovation in BCM.
