YOUR ROLE
We have a great opportunity in the Product, Pricing and Governance team within Retail Insurance Australia (RIA). In this role, you’ll co-ordinate activity to ensure the maturity of first line compliance risk aligns with community expectations by implementing compliance plans.
You’ll identify compliance risks impacting business units and arrange for such risks to be captured in risk profiles in consultation with the operational risk team. You’ll partner with risk and compliance teams across IAG to build effective risk management practices and strengthen risk culture. This includes oversight over core compliance activity, key regulatory responses and compliance activity is provided in a timely, accurate and transparent manner consistent with IAG’s purpose and way. It also includes ensuring the IAG Risk Management Strategy, associated frameworks and standards are fulfilled.
The role will be pivotal as strong advocate of compliance for the Division. A critical success factor for the role is the ability to engage broadly and communicate effectively within IAG to influence enhancements in business operations and risk culture.
This is a 12-month contract role open to candidates anywhere in Australia.
ABOUT YOU
- Solid understanding of regulatory environment, compliance obligations and effective controls
- Understanding of core insurance processes
- Understand compliance for general insurer and related legislation
- Leadership experience in supporting strategic change initiatives as part of a project team
- Strong formal written and communication skills
- Highly organised, with high attention to detail and forward planning
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with executive teams
- Capabilities in respect of core systems, risk systems and data maintenance
- Undergraduate degree in law or similar, and/or relevant ANZIIF (or similar) accreditation
