Create impact as a Senior Underwriter, Constructions & Engineering
Your Role
As a Senior Construction & Engineering Underwriter for our CGU brand you’ll bring your expertise to determine the acceptability, conditions and pricing of routine insurance risks across our portfolios.
The ideal candidate will be someone that has extensive experience working within a broker or underwriting role and has a solid understanding of the construction and general insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Applies underwriting strategy with respect to target markets and accounts
- Underwrites moderate-to-highly complex insurance risks in Construction and Engineering, adhering to underwriting guidelines and standards
- Liaises with Business Development Teams in support of account management and procurement
- Supports team of underwriters and other product/ business development areas through referral advice, technical support, and coaching
- Builds and develops relationships with customers/intermediaries by handling a range of queries and provision of advice within Service Level Agreements
This is a permanent role open to candidates anywhere in Australia.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Extensive experience in General Insurance (with experience in Construction & Engineering preferred); and/or
- Tertiary degree or equivalent and an Insurance qualification e.g. ANZIIF Cert IV or in the process of working towards;
- Proven current knowledge of product and industry, as demonstrated in involvement in trade and industry desirable
- Extensive experience in risk analysis and selection for construction and engineering and pricing experience
