About the Role

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of the Cyber Security Engineering function, focusing on the conception, operation, and ongoing enhancement of Cyber Threat Emulation & Defence (CTED) services for the IAG group.

The role involves improving both offensive and defensive toolchains through automation and orchestration, as well as designing, building, and managing core technologies like SIEM, DLP, EDR, VM, and CC. You’ll develop and maintain attack emulation, detection, and response methodologies, create automations and API integrations using ServiceNow, and lead CTED BAU uplift activities within scope, time, and quality.

Additionally, the role includes streamlining reporting processes, apply agile methodologies to workload management, identify innovative improvements to CTED services, and implement security use cases in SIEM and Service Management platforms.

 

This is a permanent role open to candidates located in Gadigal Country (Sydney).

 

About You

To be successful, you should be highly motivated, passionate about Cyber Security, and eager to make a real impact. Kick-start your career in Cyber Security with the following experience:

  • Experience in large and complex organisations, ideally with experience working in a threat management, SOC or Threat Intel capability
  • Experience working as a Security Engineer or within a Security Operation Centre team
  • Experience with SIEM products and log file analysis, ServiceNow, EDR and data loss protection.
  • Experience developing Cyber Security Use Cases and Incident Response Playbooks (desirable)
  • Experience developing ServiceNow automations in JavaScript (desirable)
  • Experience with operating and maintaining Servers and services on Windows and Linux (desirable)
  • Exposure to (or an active interest in) conducting Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration testing of Web Applications, API, Mobile and Network Infrastructure hosted on-premises and within cloud environments (e.g. AWS/Azure etc.) (desirable)
  • Technical understanding of applications developed in languages such as JavaScript, Python, Bash, PowerShell (desirable)
  • Good understanding of networking skills and comfortable reading / working at the network layer.
  • Some experience in designing and building automations and integrations with APIs.
