Your Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountability and Governance Consultant to join our dynamic team on a fixed-term basis to cover parental leave. In this role, you will be at the forefront of implementing and embedding the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) within our organisation. You will play a crucial role in designing and maintaining compliance processes, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met. This position offers a unique chance to contribute to the development of our frameworks, policies, and systems, while engaging with senior executives and supporting key governance activities.
As an Accountability and Governance Consultant within IAG’s FAR Office, you will ensure our compliance with the FAR, as well as APRA CPS 520 Fit & Proper (F&P) requirements. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our frameworks, policies, processes, systems, and tools. Your work will involve creating and maintaining Accountability Statements and Maps, managing key personnel registers, and assessing the effectiveness of compliance controls. You will also contribute to management and board reporting, monitor internal and external trends, and prepare regulatory notifications. Additionally, you will maintain the accuracy of our FAR and F&P registers using ServiceNow and support the Accountability & Governance team on various ad-hoc projects, such as stakeholder workshops and scenario testing.
This role is being offered as a 12-month fixed term opportunity that supports flexible hybrid working arrangements. We welcome candidates to join us at any of our IAG offices in Australia, with a preference for those located on Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney).
About You
To be successful in this role you’ll have the following:
- 5+ years’ experience in a Risk Management or Governance role within a regulated organisation or consulting to such organisations.
- Strong project management experience and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proven ability to stay abreast of regulatory changes and translate them into internal processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in regulatory submissions.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to build effective, collaborative partnerships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Tertiary qualifications in governance, risk management, business, law, or related fields.
- Experience with the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) or the Banking Executive Accountability Regime (BEAR) is highly desirable.
