Your Role    
   

As a Senior Analyst for Group Actuarial, Finance team you will ensure smooth and effective processes to manage risk within the Finance department. You'll help maintain a strong risk culture and maturity level. You will oversee and support risk management activities in all Group Actuarial areas, providing guidance as needed. Working closely with frontline stakeholders and Group Risk teams, you will improve risk practices using Risk Frameworks and continuously enhance risk management practices. Additionally, you will promote a positive risk culture within Finance. 

 

 

The key responsibilities of this role will be: - 

 

  • Support Group Actuarial teams by increasing risk awareness and ownership at all levels, ensuring risks are properly managed. This includes managing risk events, conducting risk assessments, and testing controls. 

  • Contribute to the embedment of IAG’s Policies & Frameworks within Business Units and monitor to ensure ongoing adherence to policy requirements and effective risk management to meet IAG’s Risk Appetite. 

  • Implement initiatives to achieve IAG’s risk maturity goals, including Operational Resilience. 

  • Assist in planning and running Group Actuarial risk forums, managing key risk stakeholder relationships, and improving risk processes and reporting. 

  • Conduct control testing and work with Line 1 and Line 3 Risk to enhance risk controls, focusing on Process Level Controls. 

  • Help build risk governance frameworks and report to the Group Actuarial Leadership Team. 

  • Support Group Actuarial through changes, ensuring smooth transitions and process updates. 

  • Contribute to Finance team initiatives, including those in the People Plan. 

 

 

This is a permanent role open to candidates based anywhere in Australia. 

  

 

About You    

 

The successful candidate will have: 

 

  • Must have an extensive experience in: 

  • risk analysis ideally in actuarial domain or similar. Or 

  • Actuarial processes with strong desire to work in risk analysis. 

  • Proven experience in risk or compliance management and promoting cultural change. 

  • Strong strategic thinking to identify and solve problems and design solutions. 

  • Good commercial judgement, proactive, organized, and detail oriented. 

  • Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills, with experience handling various stakeholders. 

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, adaptable to different audiences. 

  • Able to work independently and in a team, learn quickly, and apply knowledge in different situations. 

  • Over 5 years of experience in Financial Services, with a preference for Insurance or Finance. 

  • Experience with ServiceNow GRC modules. 

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 applications. 

  • Preferred qualifications in business, finance, accounting, economics, engineering, technology, or similar fields.
