Your Role 

As an Operational Risk Consultant, you are integral to the team responsible for identifying, assessing and reporting operational and compliance risks affecting the Retail Insurance Business.  

The role is pivotal as a strong advocate of risk management for the Division, in partnership with the business and other areas within IAG.  A critical success factor for the role is the ability to engage broadly and communicate effectively to influence enhancements in business operations and risk culture through the provision of risk management advice. 

Your strong stakeholder engagement skills, paired with demonstrated risk and compliance assessment expertise will ensure your success in the role. 

This is a 12 month fixed term contract with flexibility to be based anywhere in Australia.  

About You 

• Critical thinking ability 
• Willing to identify solutions and contribute proactively 
• Confident to engage stakeholders in forward plans and developed stakeholder management skills 
• Very organised and high attention to detail 
• Demonstrated ability in writing clearly-expressed, insightful reports 
• Experienced professional, including exposure to Risk Management in the Insurance or elsewhere in the Financial Services sector  
• Demonstrated ability in the test of business-owned controls. 
• Experience in assessing business change initiatives 
• Developed analytical skills, including assessment of risk 
• Sound capability in use of IT systems and developed data maintenance capabilities 
• An understanding of the general insurance regulatory environment 
• Understanding of core insurance processes
