Your Role 

As the Risk Intelligence & Operational Risk Manager reporting into the Executive Manager within the Retail Insurance Australia (RIA) Division at IAG, you’ll be a key player in enhancing divisional risk resilience. You’ll lead a team of high performing professionals to deliver risk intelligence and drive cultural change to improve risk resilience and maturity within the RIA Division. You’ll build strong, transparent relationships across teams and stakeholders within the DIA Division and the wider Group.

 

You’ll leverage best practice risk methodologies to ensure alignment between risk intelligence and business unit activities, while supporting the embedment of frameworks and policies, particularly related to technology and data risks.

 

Additionally, you’ll engage with the RIA Leadership Team and RIA Executive Risk Committee to assess the effectiveness of risk intelligence products and services, identifying emerging risks for the division. The role will also support the implementation of the Risk Management Framework, oversee first-line risk activities, and collaborate with a range of business stakeholders to ensure consistency in risk management practices and reporting.

About You 

  • Solid experience working in a corporate culture, audit, risk management, intelligence and/or project capacity within a large organisation.
  • Highly developed systems thinking skills, analytic skills, interpersonal skills, and communication skills (written & oral).
  • Operational experience and knowledge of technology and data management
  • Strong ability to develop relationships, work effectively with others, and consider needs and potential contributions of others.
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and business processes
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian general insurance industry, including its regulatory context.
  • Strong program/project governance and management skills, including change management.
