Mō te Tūranga | About the Role 

 

Be part of a once in a career opportunity to transform the data landscape at New Zealand’s largest general insurer. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, your role involves designing, producing, and implementing data products on the IAG Enterprise Data Hub (Google Cloud Platform) to support Pricing, Actuarial, and broader business objectives.  

Your responsibilities include developing data products within the NZ federated data model, migrating key data assets to GCP, and enabling the CFO data team to create dashboards using tools like Tableau. Additionally, the role requires implementing data quality checks, supporting the Actuarial team with monthly valuations, and assisting the Pricing team with reviews and analysis. 

 

This is a permanent full-time hybrid role, and you’ll need to be based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington).

 

 

Ōu Pūkenga | About You 

 

To be successful in the role you’ll ideally possess: 

 

• Proficiency in ETL processes (dbt experience beneficial). 

• Experience in SQL, R, or Python. 

• Familiarity with Scheduling tools, e.g. Airflow. 

• Ability to use visual analytics tools (preferably Tableau).  

• Relevant Tertiary qualification (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, or other Quantitative Discipline). 

• Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to the achievement of team objectives.  

• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
