Executive Manager, Integration Services

The Role

 

The purpose and unique contribution of your role is to lead the Integration capability to modernise, deliver and promote APIs and integration platforms at scale for IAGs engineering teams and external partners. If you have a passion for creating a scaled ecosystem that is modular, open, and secure and want to deliver seamless, state-of-the-art products to engage and delight customers, this could be the role for you.

 

This will include continuously transforming our technology practices, engineering, and support by championing innovation and diversity of thought. From strategy to execution, you will lead and engage widely across the organisation, shaping and delivering a modular future.

 

You will be part of a leadership team who love making it easier for our colleagues (and therefore our customers) to embrace and evolve technology through future-ready solutions, tools, and experiences. You should bring experience applying a DevOps mindset and practices to build and maintain reusable assets, tools and services that optimise business agility.

The role is part of a technology products and services division, that creates market differentiation through deployment of resilient, innovative technology and contemporary methods, at scale. You will support the Technology Leadership Team, with the objective of activating the digital experience for insurance customers, colleagues and partners, end to end, in-line with IAG’s corporate and customer strategy.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Utilise specialist expertise and strong business acumen to develop and implement a strategy for integration capability for Technology which provides functional and flexible utilisation of assets and services.
  • Treat API as a Product suite of open, secure, and externally exposable services that support external partners and internal platforms to efficiently discover and consume business services via API based interfaces in a frictionless, reliable, and secure manner.
  • Develop and implement best practice operational excellence for integration services across all Technology functions in line with IAG requirements and in response to external changes.
  • Develop the maturity and effectiveness of APIs and other forms of integration across the Technology domains to enable increases in efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain a view of market developments and drive innovation and incorporate best practice in the integration capability
  • Drive simplification x-tasman and targeting opportunities that reduce complexity
  • Ensure seamless, stable and appropriately sustainable delivery of integration services for iag and our partners.
  • Budgetary responsibility - ensure that Integration Services and partner expenditure is optimised and within expected tolerances
  • Work with other teams and stakeholders outside of Technology to develop a capability that adds value across the IAG value chain
  • Ensuring experience is at the heart of our solutions and support users through advocacy, collaboration and regular engagement
  • Represent Technology to external groups on Integration matters

 

Skills & Experience

 

  • Track record of experience as a technology people leader
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with APIs & Product Engineering
  • Proven experience managing APIs a harmonised and standardised suite of products
  • Knowledge in DevOps, Agile ways of working
  • Strong business acumen & financial management (budgeting, cost management & optimising resource usage)
  • Strong stakeholder management – ability to engage and maintain positive relationships with partnering services and other IAG stakeholder groups
  • Innovative mindset & experience with implementing best practices in technical teams.
  • A strategic approach to risk management including proactively managing risk by modernising technology and technology controls
